Vision Reporting Services is a full-service court reporting and transcription firm based in Nanaimo, B.C. As independent Officers of the Court, we provide an accurate and impartial transcript of all types of proceedings that require a verbatim record, such as Examinations for Discovery, civil court matters, tribunals, meetings and arbitration.
Lori Stocco, RCR, Official Reporter, the principal of Vision Reporting has more than 14 years of experience gained at leading Court Reporting firms in Calgary, Vancouver and Victoria.
Vision Court Reporters are stenographic court reporters who are certified to exacting provincial standards: five-minute tests of dictation of Literary material at 180 words per minute, Jury Charge at 200 words per minute at a minimum of 98 percent accuracy, and Q & A material at 225 words per minute at a minimum of 95 percent accuracy.
Vision Reporters take down the proceedings verbatim, using a stenotype machine using CAT (computer-aided transcription) software installed on their laptop. All proceedings are digitally recorded to ensure the accuracy of the transcript.
Vision Reporters who are certified in Real-Time Reporting provide the parties with a transcript produced contemporaneously with the proceedings.
All Vision Court Reporters are members in good standing of the BC Shorthand Reporters Association. They meet the rigourous standards of the U.S.-based National Court Reporters Association (NCRA).
Nanaimo Court Reporters
Our offices are conveniently located at #303 - 235 Bastion Street in Nanaimo, BC, but will be in #201 from July 1st, 2021.
Depending on our client's requirements, Vision Court Reporters will attend anywhere on Vancouver Island or beyond upon request.
Our office space is fully wheelchair accessible. We have comfortable boardrooms available to accommodate large and small groups with a breakout space available upon request. If you would prefer to have a certified Vision Court Reporter attend at your boardroom or another location, we are happy to come to you as well.
